The MARKETING RX: Marketing Never Stops, But You Should
March 12, 2026

Earlier this week I had to take a few unexpected sick days. (I’m much better now!) And like many people in marketing, my first instinct was to try to push through it.
But it was a good reminder of something we talk about often with health and wellness brands. If we encourage people to prioritize their wellbeing, we have to practice that ourselves too.
Practice what we preach
THE BIG DOSE
In digital marketing, it can feel like everything moves at full speed all the time. When you work in an industry that never really “turns off,” it can be hard to give yourself permission to step away.
But creativity, strategy, and good decision making all require energy. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your work is step away for a moment, reset, and come back with a clearer head.
This is especially important for those of us working with health and wellness brands. We spend so much time helping brands communicate balance, wellbeing, and self care to their audiences. It only works if we practice that mindset ourselves too.
Taking care of yourself is not a disruption to the work. It’s what allows the work to stay good.
